My portrait project grew out of my desire to celebrate individuality and to capture something simple and uniquely human. After years of self-portraiture, I wanted to create quiet moments with others.

These portraits are mediations. I believe we are most ourselves when we are comfortable and I sought to create an environment where my subjects no longer remembered to perform for the camera. Our faces at rest tell a beautiful story, our stories.
